Uneekor EYE XO vs Foresight GC3 (2026): Overhead vs Floor, the New Software Costs, and Where the XO2 Fits

Posted in

The EYE XO and the GC3 are opposite machines: one hangs from the ceiling, the other sits on the floor. Which costs less depends on whether you play GSPro.

In a Nutshell

At Foresight’s current sale the GC3 is the cheaper buy, but if GSPro is how you’ll play, the XO is the cheaper one to run. The EYE XO is an overhead camera for a dedicated indoor bay that owners say left- and right-handed golfers can share. The GC3 is a floor unit you can carry outdoors, with the stronger accuracy reputation, though no independent test separates the two.

👉 Price the first year of software, not just the hardware: Foresight’s 2026 tiers and Uneekor’s new Pro+ changed the math.

Jargon, once:

  • Overhead vs floor unit — the XO’s cameras look down from the ceiling; the GC3 sits beside the ball.
  • Measured vs modeled — read by the cameras vs calculated from the readings.
  • Foresight+ — Foresight’s Free, Silver and Gold membership tiers for its software and app.
  • Uneekor tiers — Player (free), Pro, Pro+, Champion and Ultimate.
  • GSPro — third-party simulator software, $250 a year.

What’s Changed in 2026

  • By 21 October 2026: Uneekor added Pro+, $299 a year with a one-year GSPro subscription included.
  • By 20 October 2026: Foresight put the GC3 on sale at $3,999 with no end date shown; on 2 October it was $6,999.
  • August–September 2026: Foresight+ replaced the old software model. GSPro needs the Gold tier plus a separate GSPro subscription, and a new GC3 ships with a 30-day Gold trial rather than a license for FSX, Foresight’s older software.

Overhead vs Floor: Mounting, Room, Left/Right and Outdoors

  • Mount. The XO mounts on the ceiling in front of the golfer, 3.5 ft ahead of the tee and 9–10 ft up. Uneekor says missing those numbers causes accuracy issues. The GC3 sits upright on the floor about 2 ft beside the ball.
  • Room. Uneekor recommends “a minimum room size of 13 ft wide × 16 ft deep × 10 ft high” for the XO. Foresight publishes no room size for the GC3.
  • Left and right. Owners say the XO needs no setup change between golfers (6 reports from 5 owners, 2022–2023), though Uneekor itself says nothing on the point. GC3 owners report moving and re-aligning the unit for each switch.
  • Outdoors. The XO is for indoor use only. Foresight says the GC3 can go “outdoors on the course—or the range”, and a full GC3 keeps ball and club data on Foresight+’s free tier.

Either way, protect the room from ricocheting balls, as Uneekor’s manual asks.

What Each One Measures

Uneekor advertises 24 data points for the XO; the itemized lists run 23–24. Foresight’s page lists ten numbers under “Data measured by the GC3”, though smash factor and carry are derived or modeled from the other eight (club numbers need a club marker).

XO club stickers are “recommended for capturing accurate club data”; Uneekor’s XO2 AI Studio page says both “recommended” and “required”.

Accuracy: What Owners Report

No independent test pits the two against each other. Owner and reviewer reports from Reddit and YouTube, side by side:

Software and the Yearly Cost of Playing GSPro

Ball and club data cost nothing extra on either (on a full GC3, not a ball-only unit). Uneekor’s Player tier comes with every unit, and Foresight+’s free tier includes club data.

The tiers aren’t like-for-like:

  • Foresight+ Gold adds swing video, drills with course overlays and third-party integrations.
  • Uneekor Pro adds the third-party connector (for GSPro and similar), five courses and reports.
  • Uneekor Pro+ adds AI Trainer (which needs Uneekor’s Swing Optix cameras) and the GSPro year.

Uneekor doesn’t say whether Pro+ renewals include GSPro.

At these list prices the GC3’s GSPro route costs about $400 a year more from year two, and about $550 more in year one if the XO buyer takes Pro+. At the GC3’s sale price, those savings take roughly six years to repay the XO’s $2,500 premium. Owners have criticized the connector fee since at least mid-2024.

Foresight says existing FSX licenses “will keep working”, and its GSPro listing names eligible FSX license holders alongside Gold members. Still, one owner in a 22 September thread said it had been stated in writing that FSX access is not perpetual.

EYE XO2 vs GC3, and the GC3S

The XO2 is Uneekor’s flagship at $10,999, $4,500 above the XO (still sold, badged “Essential”) and $7,000 above the GC3 at its sale price. It weighs about 30 lb against the XO’s 12 lb (Uneekor’s comparison table) and offers a 28 × 21 in hitting area:

“Large hitting area is great for lefty and righty setup too.” (u/BlobAndHisBoy, 2025-10-08)

Owners and reviewers cite its impact video, footage of the club meeting the ball, as a reason to buy (10 reports from 10 owners and reviewers). Its club data draws the most doubt. Some buyers also weigh other overhead units, such as the ProTee VX.

Protee VX Space Requirements

One owner calls the GC3S the subscription version of the GC3. Foresight’s store has dropped it (its page redirects to the GC3), but its software is still supported. Owners describe it as the same hardware as the Bushnell Launch Pro (7 reports from 6 owners and reviewers).

Buying Used, Reliability and Support

  • Transfers. Uneekor charges $100 per launch monitor and $50 per add-on to move a license, and its warranty isn’t transferable. One GC3S buyer wrote of a $500 transfer fee; Foresight’s support FAQ lists none, so confirm before buying.
  • Resale. An overhead unit has to come off its ceiling mount before it can be sold; a floor unit just moves. Insure either one.
  • Support. Mostly commercial buyers raise repair and fulfillment concerns about Uneekor (5 reports from 5 owners). GC3 owners describe Foresight’s support as mixed, and in May 2026 objected to its no-returns stance.
  • Warranty. Both come with two years; Foresight sells GC3 extensions.

Which Should You Buy?

  • A mixed left- and right-handed indoor bay: the EYE XO, or the XO2 for its larger hitting area.
  • Outdoor, range or portable use: the GC3.
  • GSPro every week: the XO if the GC3 sale ends. At the sale price, the GC3 stays cheaper for years.
  • Lowest up-front price today: the GC3 at Foresight’s sale.
  • Ball and club data only: either; neither needs a paid tier, so the GC3’s sale makes it the cheaper buy.
  • Face angle or impact video: the XO or XO2.
  • Value for the money: owners who stepped up from cheaper units such as the SkyTrak call the XO worth its price (8 reports from 8 owners, 2021–2026).

EYE XO vs GC3 FAQ

Is the EYE XO or the GC3 more accurate?

No independent test separates them. GC3 owners treat it as the reference; XO owners praise its accuracy.

Does the GC3 need a subscription now?

Not for ball and club data. On a new GC3, GSPro needs Foresight+ Gold ($599 a year) plus GSPro.

Can left- and right-handed golfers share an EYE XO or a GC3?

The XO needs no setup change, owners say; owners report moving and re-aligning the GC3 each time.

Can the EYE XO be used outdoors?

No. Uneekor says it’s for indoor use only.

What’s the difference between the GC3 and the GC3S?

Foresight no longer sells the GC3S but still supports its software; one owner calls it the subscription version.

Is the EYE XO2 worth the extra over the EYE XO?

Only if you want the bigger hitting area, since owners doubt its club data.

EYE XO2 vs GC3: which is better?

Different jobs: the XO2 for a premium indoor bay, the GC3 for portability and outdoor use at a much lower price.

Which costs less to run with GSPro?

The EYE XO: $299 in year one through Pro+, then $449 a year on Pro, against $849 a year for the GC3.

Final Thoughts

Foresight+ and Uneekor’s Pro+ are both new in 2026, and the GC3 sale shows no end date. Re-check all three before you buy.
