Does GS Pro work with Skytrak and Skytrak Plus? – How to make it work!

Not officially — and that has not changed since the original SkyTrak. No generation appears on GSPro’s supported list, and SkyTrak has never announced an integration. Everything around that answer has moved: the community bridge SkyTrak+ owners were waiting for in 2023 now exists, E6 Connect and TGC 2019 are gone for new SkyTrak customers, the SkyTrak+ is discontinued, and the ST MAX has arrived.

In a Nutshell

Not officially: GSPro’s supported list names no SkyTrak, and SkyTrak has never announced an integration. Owners of every generation run GSPro through a free community bridge instead, which works for full shots but is unsupported by both companies and best paired with AutoPutt for putting.

Jargon, once: GSPro = the community’s favorite PC simulator software, sold by subscription. E6 Connect = TruGolf’s rival software; TGC 2019 = a discontinued rival title. OpenAPI = the open connection GSPro publishes so any device can feed it shot data. OpenSkyPlus2 = the community bridge that feeds SkyTrak shots into that OpenAPI. SGT Discord = the Simulator Golf Tour’s Discord server, the bridge’s home. AutoPutt = GSPro’s setting that holes putts automatically within a set distance. Direct / Network Mode = the SkyTrak’s own Wi-Fi network versus your home network.

Compatibility by generation

Two honesty notes. The original SkyTrak has no entry on either company’s list — its absence is the fact, not a documented “no.” And the ST MAX cell deserves care: this summer’s owner reports describe the bridge on SkyTrak+ and original units, while ST MAX owners discuss the unit’s reliability without mentioning GSPro at all.

How this has changed since 2023

• August 2026: SkyTrak’s product page marks the SkyTrak+ “no longer available”; GSPro is still absent from both official lists. GSPro’s old lifetime purchase option is no longer sold to new buyers (existing lifetime licenses still work), and SkyTrak’s tiers are now Essential, Core and Elite — the “Game Improvement” and “Play and Improve” names are gone.
• July 2026: a third-party, pay-per-use cloud GSPro service appeared — its first users report support for only the Rapsodo MLM and Garmin R10, not SkyTrak. GSPro’s own site lists no cloud version and still names no SkyTrak model (21 October 2026).
• October 2025: the ST MAX launched; the bridge community reports it covered by OpenSkyPlus2.
• 2024–2025: E6 Connect, TGC 2019 and ProTee Play were discontinued for new SkyTrak customers. The old price argument for GSPro over E6 or TGC no longer applies — there is no $1,000-plus rival left to compare against.
• Late 2023: the SkyTrak+ bridge arrived.

How the bridge works (and why it is fragile)

The mechanism. The SkyTrak PC app’s driving range produces shot data. The bridge is a small loader dropped into the SkyTrak program folder that relays that data to GSPro’s OpenAPI connector — the door GSPro leaves open for any device. Nothing in the unit changes, which is why the bridge survives across generations and why a SkyTrak app update can break it overnight.

The setup, at a level that will not rot when the files change:

1. Buy GSPro at gsprogolf.com GSPro. When asked which launch monitor you own, choose the “Other/Open API” option (the checkout wording changes; look for the open-API choice).
2. Install GSPro with the emailed license key and instructions.
3. Install the SkyTrak PC app from SkyTrak’s site.
4. Join the Simulator Golf Tour Discord and open the #skytrak_plus channel. One repeat commenter’s directions: “go to the #skytrak_plus channel. At the top OpenSkyPlus2 will be pinned with installation instructions.” Download the newest release, not a cached old one — old builds are the usual failure, not the bridge.
5. Place the files where the pinned instructions say (the SkyTrak program folder).
6. Open GSPro with the OpenAPI connection option and leave that window open.
7. Open the SkyTrak app’s driving range — Run as Administrator if it will not connect — and wait for the OpenAPI window to show “connected.”

The risk profile, from owners:

• Unofficial, unsupported by both companies, and liable to stop working after a SkyTrak app update.
• The common experience is that it simply works: “anyone with a modicum of computer knowledge can set it up in 10 minutes.”
• One owner of three launch monitors disagreed this August: “Technically you can make GSPro work, but it’s a weird workaround and not something I wanted to fool with.” They bought SkyTrak’s own course package instead.

Putting through the bridge

Bottom line on putting: use AutoPutt and skip the putting connector.

I definitely recommend using the no-putting version of GS Pro on Skytrak Plus at the moment. There is a connection file available within the Discord server that allows putting, but the putting experience is so problematic and unrealistic that it’s just frustrating and detracts from the experience.

SkyTrak’s own troubleshooting guidance backs that up, acknowledging the unit “is more likely to have trouble with putts,” and GSPro’s round settings include AutoPutt and Gimme options built for this situation. What you need: GSPro license, PC, and SkyTrak membership

GSPro license. GSPro is $250 a year, and for new buyers the subscription is the only way in: the Lifetime Add-on is no longer sold, though existing lifetime licenses keep working. Same price whichever launch monitor you pick at checkout, updates included, license checked online at every launch. I would recommend opting for the annual subscription, given the benefits of obtaining the most recent updates.

The PC. Windows 10 or 11 only — no Mac, no iPad (iPad vs PC for Skytrak – Choose your Skytrak device covers the SkyTrak side). GSPro’s published minimum for 1080p:

SkyTrak membership. The driving range works with no subscription; course play in SkyTrak’s own app needs Core or Elite. Whether the bridge needs a paid tier is undocumented, and owners disagree: a repeat commenter says “ST does not charge to integrate GSPro.” while an 18-month SkyTrak+ owner lists a “subscription charge to connect to GSPro” among their downsides — most likely SkyTrak’s own tiers versus the free bridge. Check the pinned note in the Discord channel before buying a tier for GSPro’s sake.

One contrast. SkyTrak’s own route to angle of attack is SkyGolf’s SuperTags club sensors: SkyTrak’s store says a launch monitor needs the PRO Plus membership to sync their club data, and sells 14 SuperTags with a one-year PRO Plus membership for $629.90 (a four-pack with PRO Plus is $329.90; 21 October 2026). The bridge passes the SkyTrak+’s attack angle into GSPro at no charge: “AoA, as measured by ST+, is available for free using OpenSkyPlus2”.

Will SkyTrak ever support GSPro officially?

There is no announcement, and after years of owner requests the honest reading is that nothing is coming. What is documented is how empty SkyTrak’s third-party list has become:

Two watch items. Cloud GSPro, the streamed pay-per-use version that appeared in July 2026 (about $10 an hour, per one early user), was asked directly about launch monitors: “it’s only for the MLM and Garmin r10 today” — and the GameTrax 360 route shows SkyTrak’s chosen direction for club data is its own paid ecosystem, not an open door.

If GSPro is the point, is SkyTrak the wrong monitor?

It might be, and the owner record says so in three voices:

• A vocal group of ex-owners moved from the SkyTrak+ to a Bushnell Launch Pro for reliability and official GSPro support, and call the Launch Pro categorically more dependable.
• Shoppers comparing the ST MAX increasingly name Square’s Omni, Uneekor’s EYE MINI and Garmin’s R50 or R10 as better value — a rising view, with the Omni’s $1,600 price the recurring anchor this summer.
• The ST MAX itself is widely seen as a SkyTrak+ with refinements, not a leap — no gain in core accuracy.

The counter-case is real. A used original SkyTrak at its going used price remains a low-risk entry, buyers who land a good one are frequently satisfied, and the bridge turns it into a cheap GSPro seat — the strongest positive note in the whole owner record. If you already own one, the bridge is a bargain.

Does GSPro work with the original SkyTrak?
