Best Golf Simulator Enclosure Kits Compared (2026)
Posted in Enclosures, Golf Impact Screens
A golf simulator enclosure kit is the frame, the impact screen and the fabric around them that catch the ball and frame the picture. Seven kits from four retailers are compared here, cheapest first. They differ most on what’s in the box, how deep they run and how much room they need.
In a Nutshell
For a standard room, the SIG10 (on sale at $1,599.99 on 11 October, poles included) and the Carl’s Place DIY (from $999.95, pipes extra) are the value picks. Buy the Carl’s Place Pro when you need a wide or deep bay or will hang a projector or overhead launch monitor from the frame.
👉 Price the frame before you compare: both Carl’s Place kits ship fittings, fabric and screen, and the pipe is a separate buy.
Jargon, once:
- EMT — electrical metal tubing, the steel conduit sold at hardware stores that Carl’s Place frames are built from.
- Depth — the distance from the screen to the front of the frame.
- Ball bungees — short elastic loops that tie the screen to the frame through its grommets.
- Surround — the fabric that covers the sides and top.
How this was built: retailers’ pages read on 2, 3, 6 and 11 October 2026; makers’ assembly manuals read in August 2026; owner and reviewer reports from Reddit and YouTube since 2023. Nothing here was tested hands-on.
What’s in the Box (and What Isn’t)
Every kit here includes an impact screen and enclosure fabric. The frame is where they split:
- Frame included: SIG kits ship push-pin poles (18 in every size, per the manuals); the SIG8 and SIG10 listings add foam padding, the surround and 6-inch ball bungees. SwingBay ships a powder-coated aluminum frame with hardware and tools, blackout curtains, two side netting panels with sandbags and frame padding.
- Fittings only: Carl’s Place ships the fittings, fabric and screen. Unless you add its Pipe Framing Kit, you buy 1-inch EMT (DIY) or 2-inch EMT (Pro) yourself; the Pro ships a diagram with the cut lengths.
- Package with frame: PlayBetter’s SimStudio BYO package lists the enclosure, impact screen and frame; other SimStudio packages add a projector and launch monitor.

Prices as read on 2–11 October 2026 and re-checked on 21 October 2026. They change often, so check before you buy.
SIG’s limited-time sale on 11 October wasn’t showing on 2 and 3 October, so recheck every row before you order.
Carl’s Place DIY Enclosure
- Price: from $999.95 for 8 x 8 ft with the Standard screen. A 9 x 12 ft kit was $1,259.95 with Standard or $1,749.95 with Premium on 2 October.
- Sizes: six listed (7.7 x 10, 7.7 x 13, 8 x 8, 8 x 10.5, 8.5 x 11.5 and 9 x 12 ft), with Standard, Preferred, Premium and High-Contrast Gray screens.
- Frame: 1-inch EMT, bought locally or as an add-on. Carl’s prices the add-on by size once you pick one (for example $349.95 for 8 × 8 ft and $414.95 for 9 × 12 ft on 21 October 2026), so the full cost depends on whether you buy the kit or source pipe locally.
- Foam inserts: an add-on here, while the Pro includes them.
Reviewers on YouTube most often name tensioning the screen’s bungee cords around the back poles as the hardest, most physical step (6 reports from 6 reviewers).
SIG8, SIG10 and SIG12
- Prices on 11 October, all on a limited-time sale: SIG8 $1,439.99 (regular $1,799.99), SIG10 $1,599.99 (regular $1,999.99), SIG12 $1,999.99 (regular $2,499.99).
- SIG10 size: 10 ft 10 in wide x 8 ft 4 in high x 5 ft deep, with a screen 10 ft 1 in x 7 ft 7 in.
- SIG8 size: 8 ft 4 in square, 5 ft deep.
- Frame: 18 color-coded snap-button poles in every size. The manuals recommend a second person.
- Warranty: no term published; Shop Indoor Golf offers a 30-day return; the buyer pays return shipping and a restocking fee.
Reviewers praise the tool-free, color-coded assembly as fast (9 reports from 3 reviewers).
SwingBay (Rain or Shine Golf)
- Price: 8 x 10.5 ft with a single-layer screen $1,999 (struck $3,499) on 2 October; 9 x 12 ft $2,999 (struck $3,999). The triple-layer screen adds $500 at either size.
- Frame: 1.5-inch push-button aluminum.
- In the box: the screen, frame, blackout curtains, two side netting panels with sandbags, frame padding and ball bungees. Side netting comes standard, which the SIG and Carl’s Place kits don’t list in the box.
- Size: 8 ft high x 4 ft 2 in deep x 10 ft 5 in wide for the base size.
Rain or Shine also sells SwingBay bundles with a launch monitor; the prices here are for the enclosure alone.
PlayBetter SimStudio
- Price: the BYO (Build Your Own) Package showed $2,195 on sale (struck $2,995) on 2 and 11 October, before a size is chosen.
- In the box: the BYO page lists the enclosure, impact screen and frame; other packages add a projector with mount and a launch monitor whose model varies, per the manual.
- Sizes: four listed, from the SimStudio8 (8′ x 7.5′ x 4′) to the SimStudio13 Deep (13′ x 10′ x 10′).
- Warranty: one year for home use against manufacturing defects, excluding normal wear and strikes by anything but a golf ball; the manual treats the impact screen as a consumable.
Owners on Reddit report that the bundled short-throw projector is hard to dial in inside the enclosure (6 reports from 4 owners).
Carl’s Place Pro Enclosure Kit
- Price: from $3,409.95 for 8 x 10.5 ft, 5 ft deep, Premium screen, up to $5,609.95 for 10 x 15.5 ft, 15 ft deep, Gray screen (2 October).
- Frame: 2-inch EMT, sold separately. The Pipe Framing Kit ran from $910 to $1,550 in the sizes checked on 2 October.
- Sizes and depths: six listed sizes plus custom sizing to the inch; depths of 5, 8, 10 or 15 ft, with the 8 x 10.5, 8.5 x 11 and 8.5 x 14.5 ft sizes offering only 5 or 8 ft.
- Mounting: Carl’s Place says the frame is strong enough for a mounted projector or overhead launch monitor.
- Assembly: about 2 hours with a couple of helpers, the maker says.
Owners and reviewers call the 2-inch pipe heavy and bulky to handle, a two-person job (8 reports from 6 owners and reviewers). Carl’s makes its Pro enclosures to order, and its displayed policy allows restocking fees of up to 30–50% on custom items when changes are accepted at all (21 October 2026), so measure twice.
Will It Fit Your Room?
The ceiling is the first limit. Each maker’s own room figure is below; owners’ rooms that work with less are reports, not promises.
| Kit | Maker’s room or frame figure |
|---|---|
| SIG8 | Room at least 10 ft wide x 16 ft long, 9 ft ceiling |
| SIG10 | Room at least 12 ft wide x 18 ft long, 9 ft ceiling |
| SIG12 | Room at least 14 ft wide x 20 ft long, 10 ft ceiling |
| SwingBay 8 x 10 | Footprint 11 ft W x 15 ft D x 8.1 ft H; 9 ft ceiling suits most players, 10 ft or more gives full swing clearance |
| Carl’s Place Pro 9 x 12 | Frame 114 in tall; leave 2 in above, 2 to 3 in each side and 12 in at the rear |
| Carl’s Place DIY | Not stated on the page checked |
| PlayBetter SimStudio | No number; the manual asks for “adequate space around the simulator” |

What Owners Report After Setup
- Screen ties break. Zip ties that hang the Carl’s Place Pro screen are a repeat complaint on Reddit; one owner’s top ties broke within two sessions (6 reports from 5 owners). Spare ties or ball bungees are cheap insurance.
- Wide builds sag. Enclosures wider than about 12 to 14 ft often sag a few inches in the middle of the top over time, while builds around 10 ft wide report little sag (6 reports from 6 owners).
- Gaps let mishits through. Sagging nets, curtains with no room to give and exposed frame edges let balls reach walls (8 reports from 6 owners). Carl’s Place warns its enclosure fabric isn’t built to take a direct strike, so add side netting or padding on the shank side. In a home with left- and right-handed players, that means both sides.
- The frame holds up. Reviewers report SIG frames don’t shake or shift under repeated impact (8 reports from 3 reviewers).
Which Kit for Whom
- Lowest price, custom size, happy to source pipe: Carl’s Place DIY.
- Everything in one box, tool-free: SIG10 at its sale price, or the SIG8 for a narrower room.
- Side netting and blackout curtains included: SwingBay.

- A projector or overhead launch monitor on the frame, or a wide, deep or custom bay: Carl’s Place Pro.

Golf Simulator Enclosure FAQ
Do golf simulator enclosure kits include the frame?
SIG and SwingBay kits include it, and PlayBetter’s SimStudio BYO package lists a frame. Carl’s Place DIY and Pro kits ship fittings and fabric; you buy EMT pipe or add Carl’s Pipe Framing Kit.
What size enclosure does a room need?
Start with your ceiling and width. SIG’s manuals ask for a 9 ft ceiling for the SIG8 and SIG10 and 10 ft for the SIG12. SwingBay says 9 ft suits most players.
How deep should an enclosure be?
The kits here run from 4 ft 2 in (SwingBay) to 15 ft (Carl’s Pro). More depth buffers mishits and high shots; the cost is room length.
Can a projector be mounted on the enclosure?
Carl’s Place says the Pro frame supports a mounted projector or overhead launch monitor. SimStudio packages with a projector include a bracket and mount for it. The other kits’ pages checked don’t say.
Is building your own enclosure cheaper?
Often, if you’ll cut conduit and hang netting yourself, but it takes more planning:

Final Thoughts
Compare enclosure kits on the standing price, frame included, and on your ceiling before anything else. The SIG10 and the Carl’s Place DIY lead on value for a standard room, SwingBay on what’s included, and the Carl’s Place Pro on size range and mounting. Recheck every price before you order.
